Mitnick being a little hard on us CISSP folks recently!  I don't know exactly how to take his view on a test I studied a while for and just knew I had failed but passed.

Passed the CISSP

Well, I found out yesterday that I passed the CISSP exam that I took on December 9th, 2007. I studied off and on for a few months and was very disappointed when I left the exam. I truly felt like most of my studying was for nothing. I keep being told that's how these tests make you feel no matter how you do but I was certain I had failed.

CHAP

Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol (CHAP) is a peer entity authentication method for PPP that uses a randomly-generated challenge and requiring a matching response that depends on a cryptographic hash of the challenge and a secret key.

HSRP and VRRP

I heard a couple of acronyms while listening to some CISSP study material the other day and both turned out to be protocols related to routing which I had never heard of.
