Ethernet over Power Lines

I have been looking and reading about what I wanted to do to get my network down in my garage.  I have a little work area in my garage for working on other folks computers and I have to get te internet down there eventually.  I had thought about trying to try getting two wireless routers to talk but from what all I have read, that can be a pain.  A friend let me know that he got a wireless bridge working where he needed to solve this same problem.  The bridge was about $125 which is ok but I just wasn't sure about wireless problems extending from my second floor down to the garage.  It would have probably worked ok but I saw these Netgear Powerline Adapters.

I read a bunch of reviews on these and all seemed pretty positive.  I usually like trying new technology like this so I figured what the heck!  I got this kit which had everything you need to get networked.  I got home and plugged them in.  You are supposed to plug them into the wall directly and not a surge protector or UPS.  Besides that, you just plug them up.  Really plug them in and plug in the network cable and that's it.  They just worked.  Here is a screenshot of a speed test with an old Windows 2000 machine.  This computer speed test is from my garage over these Powerline adapters up to my Linksys Wireless Router and out my DSL.

Needless to say, they worked out pretty good!  I can't say anything bad about these from setup to speed.
