Taskos

May 31st, 2011 Comments off

Now that I’m completely used to using Gmail and Google Calendar I wanted a good way to see my Google Tasks on my phone. I read something about Google just opening the API or just opening it to Android developers. Not too sure but the article said there should be more apps out soon to bring your Google tasks to your Android phone. I found one last week that does just fine. It’s called Taskos and it seems to run fine on my Thunderbolt.

Thunderbolt SMS app

May 27th, 2011 Comments off

What sms app do you use on your android? After getting bored with the built in app I finally tried Handcent. Not too sure why I wanted to use something different except but to maybe make it look different! I could think of some things I wanted to be able to do like have it make a different sound for different people. Handcent seemed fine but I recently installed Go SMS Pro and switched to it because I read you could have a different sound for different people but now I’m reading about ChompSMS and think all three can do that!

Facebook Mobile Authentication

May 25th, 2011 Comments off

How much information do you give Facebook? What about your cell phone number? If you don’t mind them having that, this is a feature worth turning on, I think. I think I added my cell phone number to my profile a long time ago and only have it shared with friends but the world may know it by now since they are always changing settings! Will you give them more info and turn this feature on?

FBI fights to protect ISPs that snoop on their customers

May 18th, 2011 Comments off

This is enough to piss you off if you care about privacy and the government and big corporations thinking they are always above the law. Everyone should keep up with this kind of stuff just to be aware and to always be on the side of tech folks that try to provide ways to protect customers from this kind of stuff if the customer wants to at least be able to.

Netflix video streaming is single largest downstream Internet traffic in the U.S.

May 17th, 2011 Comments off

I love Netflix and can access it on quite a few devices (a PC, three TIVOs, two iPads, two iPad Touches, three laptops, and an XBox 360) in my house but I don’t think I add too much to this outcome. How much do you watch on Netflix?

Dropbox Lied to Users

May 17th, 2011 Comments off

Do you use Dropbox? I do and have for a while. These kinds of allegations should make you look more at the small print and work to understand the technology you are using at least to the point that you feel comfortable with it. Worth the read if you use Dropbox. –>

Thunderbolt free hotspot

May 17th, 2011 Comments off

I was really wanting the hotbot feature  but I haven’t used it much. I guess I can try it out for another month for free!  Verizon sent me a text yesterday saying it was free thru June 15th now.
