Command line shutdown

September 16th, 2010

I recently did some updates to a Windows 2003 Server remotely and there wasn’t an option to do a restart through the GUI.  You can always do a reboot by the command line on machines like Windows XP and newer by using Shutdown.exe.  An example would be – shutdown /r – to do a shutdown and reboot.
